Over My Head is a party game that runs entirely on your phone. There is no account to create, no server holding your data, and nothing here is sold or shared with advertisers. This page describes exactly what the app does collect and why.
There are no user accounts. The app never asks for your name, email address, phone number, or contacts, and it has no way to link what it measures back to you as a person.
Most of what the app remembers never leaves your phone. It is stored in a database on the device itself and is not transmitted anywhere:
Deleting the app deletes all of it. We have no copy and cannot recover it for you.
The app sends anonymous usage measurements to PostHog, an analytics service, so we can tell which decks people play, whether rounds are the right length, and whether the tilt controls are working on your phone. This is how the game gets better.
What is sent:
No user profile is created, because no identity is ever supplied to link one to. Screen and session recording is switched off. The individual cards you see are not reported — only totals for a round.
When the app crashes or hits an error, a report goes to Sentry so it can be fixed. A report contains the technical details of the failure, your device model, operating system version, and app version.
Sentry is configured with personally identifying context deliberately switched off, so reports do not carry your IP address. Screen recording on errors is off.
Any purchase is handled entirely by Apple or Google. Payment details never reach the app and we never see them. The app is told only which items your store account owns, so it knows what to unlock.
PostHog and Sentry both process data on servers in the United States. If you are outside the United States, the anonymous measurements described above are transferred there.
The current version of the app does not use your camera or microphone and does not ask for permission to.
A future version is planned to offer recording the person guessing, as something you switch on yourself. If that ships, the app will ask your permission first, the recording will be saved on your device, and it will not be uploaded to us — we would have no way to see it. This page will be updated before that feature is released.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. It collects no personal information from anyone.
Because nothing collected identifies you, there is generally no personal data to access, correct, or delete. To remove everything the app has stored about your play, delete the app from your device. If you have a question about your data, write to us at the address below.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
